Overview
Strantia is a venture capital firm focused on early-stage
companies. We have decades of personal experience in the
high-altitude, rarified air of new enterprises. As experienced
operational managers, we are investing time; energy and
money to help emerging technology companies create the
strategies, systems, infrastructure and management teams
to become leaders in their markets. We're attracted to
big ideas over small, build companies for large rather
than niche markets, and we value integrity in business
practices above all else. We relish our role as enablers
and catalysts for entrepreneurs to create and build great
companies of lasting value.
Building companies "the right way"
Strantia's considered approach to investing extends to
its board participation and governance of portfolio companies.
We prefer to see companies financed for 18 - 24 months
worth of working capital between rounds of financing,
and operating on a business plan to support that proposition.
We work to foster intimate communications between the
company's entire management team and its board as part
of the practice of regularly evaluating management for
performance.
We work hard to build an ecosystem of expertise around
our companies
We leverage our external networks and our internal operating
executives, who have built companies in the past. We look
for leaders in their community who can lend expertise
and judgment, as well as their networks, and get them
involved with the companies their backgrounds best match. Strantia's active guidance approach to investing combines
deep knowledge of markets, a proven analytical approach,
extensive networks, internal operating expertise and an
appreciation for communication and rapid problem-solving
to shepherd our companies to success in their chosen markets.
The people at Strantia are a diverse lot. Our partners
are entrepreneurs themselves, having formed, run and sold
multiple companies across a spectrum of industries. Our
professional staff brings financial, legal, product development,
marketing and operations support to the firm and the partners
at Enterprise draw on their experience when working with
our portfolio companies.
Entrepreneurs often ask us what we look for in a company.
Typically, we look at large emerging markets and markets
undergoing fundamental changes along with the companies
that we believe will become leaders in these markets and
we look for talented people with innovative business models
that can create or transform these large markets.
